We let them figure it out themselves! With guidance, motivation, and plenty of encouragement, most dogs quickly find their rhythm and start enjoying treadmill time. We use toys, treats, praise, and even our best high school cheerleading voices to keep them engaged and having fun!

Now, the big question everyone asks: “When will my dog run on the treadmill?” We get it—seeing your dog run is exciting! But every dog is different. Some may prefer to walk first, building their confidence and comfort, while others may dive right into running. The pace they choose depends on their personality, motivation, and comfort with the treadmill.

While running is the goal for many, even a gentle walk has huge benefits—boosting cardiovascular health, reducing stress, and providing valuable mental stimulation. The key is letting each dog move at their own pace, ensuring they’re happy and comfortable every step of the way. When they’re ready to run, they will—and we’ll be cheering them on every step of the way!
